Max D

INSTRUCTOR

 

Max started his career with the U.S. Army Special Operations, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Combat Jump Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (with Bronze Arrow Head), and Army Commendation Medal. He then served with Company H, 121st Infantry, Long Range Surveillance Unit (LRS).

After the military, Max joined the Savannah Police Department, Georgia, where he served in various Law Enforcement capacities and as a Firearms/Defensive Tactics Instructor. He was a Team Leader for the 1996 Olympics Emergency Response Team (ERT) and a six times National SWAT Round-Up Competitor.

1997 Max became a Federal Marshal with the Department of Justice (DOJ)-U.S. Marshals Service (USMS). He served 10 years with the Special Operations Group (SOG). Throughout his tenure with SOG, Max held positions as a Tactical Team Assaulter, SOG Sniper, Firearms Instructor, Tactical Medic and Task Force Commander. Prior security experiences include dignitary protection for the USMS Director, high level officials of the Executive Office of the President (U.S.), and DOJ. He conducted PSD operations in the U.S. and various areas of Afghanistan, Iraq, Europe, and South America. Max was assigned to the U.S. Department of State-Active Response Corps (ARC) deploying to Baghdad, Iraq to assist in the development of security, and stabilization efforts. The last 5 years of his government career, Max was assigned to the Tactical Operations Division (TOD)-Emergency Support Function #13 (ESF#13) which responded to Natural Disasters and Acts of Terrorism (AOT). Part of his duties were to provide training and firearms qualifications to U.S. Marshals and Federal Agents.

Max is a graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Firearms Instructor Training Program (FITP), and the Defensive Tactics Instructor Training Program (DTITP).
