2-Gun Competition Skills (2 DAYS)
Prerequisite: Previous pistol and rifle courses (totaling 16 hours) or USPSA “C” Classification/IDPA Marksman or higher . Our classes are NOT a prerequisite but training from a reputable company/instructor or competition experience is required.

Description
This course is designed to increase handgun and rifle skills for competition shooting, with a focus on the types of shooting and gun handling required for 2-gun matches. The target audience of the course is the safe and competent shooter, experienced law enforcement/military operator or multi-gun/USPSA/IDPA competitor who is looking to improve their speed, marksmanship and gun handling skills, and to learn the rules and best practices of the shooting sports. We will stress speed and accuracy while covering handgun and rifle manipulation skills that will enable the shooter to more effectively use their firearms. We will use time-tested and proven drills to increase your skills. We will also cover the different rules and scoring methods of 2-gun competitions, as well as strategies to be more competitive. Students will learn self-diagnostics to continue development of their own personal performance, how to practice and track one’s own skill level.

Equipment Needed (minimum)
Serviceable Carbine (AR or similar) of 556/223 & Semi-Automatic Pistol of 9mm or larger caliber.
750 rounds of rifle ammunition and 750 rounds of pistol ammunition (minimum).No steel core, no armor piercing, no tracer.
ACTIVE Retention holster (ABSOLUTE MUST). This is a requirement, the gun has to be secure when you run with it holstered. Students should be able to run without the gun bouncing out and the gun should stay in the holster AT ALL TIMES.
Serpa holsters or similar holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed
Sturdy Gun belt or Battle belt with strong-side or appendix Concealment holster & magazine pouch
Be able to retain 2 pistol magazines and 1 rifle magazine on your body
3-5 pistol magazines with a minimum of 15 round capacity.
3-5 carbine magazines of at least 20 round capacity (minimum).
Tactical sling that will allow transition from carbine to pistol.
Eye protection (clear and tinted), hearing protection (electronic recommended)
Baseball cap, gloves and cleaning equipment.
Knee & Elbow pads (optional).
Food, water, snacks and appropriate clothing.

This is an outdoor range, so the only restrooms are Port-A-Johns.
