Defensive Low Light Pistol Skills (8 HRS)

Description

The Defensive Low Light Pistol Skills is an 8-hour class designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively operate in low-light conditions. This advanced course emphasizes the importance of understanding the unique challenges and tactical advantages presented by low-light environments. Students will learn how to employ various techniques and tools to improve their defensive capabilities, ensuring they are prepared for real-world scenarios where visibility is compromised.

$295 (Plus an additional Range fee of $20 per student, payable cash on the day of the course to the instructor)

Goals

  • Develop proficiency in low-light shooting techniques.

  • Understand the principles of light management and the use of handheld and weapon-mounted lights.

  • Enhance decision-making skills under stress and limited visibility.

  • Improve situational awareness and threat identification in low-light conditions.

  • Practice and apply defensive tactics in realistic low-light scenarios.

  • Understand the legal and ethical considerations of use of force in low-light conditions.

Equipment Needed

  • Serviceable semi-automatic pistol (9mm or larger caliber) and at least three magazines

  • Head lamp, Handheld flashlight, and weapon-mounted light

  • Serpa holsters or similar holsters that use the trigger finger to deactivate a retention device are NOT allowed

  • Ability to retain two magazines on your body

  • 3-5 magazines of 10-round capacity (minimum)

  • 400 rounds of dependable ammunition (minimum) PLUS 50 rounds of your chosen defensive carry ammo - No steel core, no armor piercing, no tracer

  • Knee pads (optional, but recommended – range surface is rocky gravel)

  • Water for hydration

  • Eye protection, hearing protection (electronic recommended), and a baseball cap.

  • Lunch is NOT included. Please bring your own.

  • It's highly recommended to bring a chair.

  • This is an outdoor range, so the only restrooms are Port-A-Johns.
