John has over 28 years of law enforcement experience in state/local law enforcement, both operationally and as a trainer. After service in the USMC during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, John began his law enforcement career in Arizona and continued it in Washington State. John was a Firearms Instructor, SWAT team member, and Disorder Response Team member.

After service as a Supervisory Instructor for the US Navy’s Center for Anti-Terrorism/Naval Security Forces, John began instructing for the federal government in Artesia, NM, Charleston, SC and Cheltenham, MD. His current class load includes Advanced Pistol, Advanced Pistol Instructor, Handgun Optics, and Law Enforcement Rifle.

Since 2006 he had trained multiple Federal agencies in Basic and Advanced Firearms programs, Active Threat Response, Tactical Medicine, and Use of Force.  He has taught for state/local law enforcement agencies across the country in Active Threat Response and Tactical Medicine.

Outside of work, John is a nationally ranked competitive shooter and is active in USPSA and IDPA.
