AAR for Advanced Application of Pistol Fundamentals 02/19/2022

“This was my third Green Ops class and I've enjoyed them all. I learned a lot in each one, but this was by far the most beneficial class I've taken not only with Green Ops, but with anyone.

When I signed up I didn't necessarily understand the course name "Advanced Application of Pistol Fundamentals"--but after taking the class that is the best way to describe it. The course outline of warming up with the basics--reviewing grip, stance, proper trigger press, and other fundamentals; then applying these fundamentals to an "advanced" shot like hitting a Green Ops target from 50 yards exposes all of the weaknesses in your fundamentals and clearly illustrates what you need to work on.

Luke, Josh, and Fred did a great job demonstrating concepts and drills to the entire group while still being able to offer individual instruction and feedback.

After the class, I jotted down the notes below while everything was still fresh in my mind. These are things I found particularly helpful. I implemented everything below into my daily dry fires this week and when I went to the range yesterday the results were beyond anywhere I thought I could possibly be as a shooter, and now I have an entirely new perspective of what my ceiling for my pistol skills could be.

The other day I signed up for the Practical Pistol/Competition Skills Class on 3/26 and I look forward to taking a few other courses with Green Ops throughout the year.” — BL
