I highly encourage training with good instructors at any opportunity you can manage. All good shooters, especially those who are instructors themselves, are life-long students of the craft that seek out knowledge from others at all opportunities. As a guy who is busy with family and work my ability to take training is more limited than I prefer, but I still try to take a couple of courses of some type each year.
Read MoreThis is my second review for Green Ops. It’s also my second class I attended with them. This after action feedback and review will be about the rifle class taught by the team. Being mainly a pistol person for four and a half years, I’m starting to venture on to learning how to use a rifle correctly, effectively and efficiently.
Read MoreGreen Ops Carbine 1 was a great class for anyone looking into taking some rifle training. As a civilian this class was exactly what I needed. To add to the great training Mike followed up the class with an e-mail that included a power point of all the classroom material, a list of all the drills we ran during the class as well as book recommendations and other useful resources.
Read MoreNine months ago I had never heard of Green Ops. I believe it was on pistol-forum.com where I first saw an announcement of one of their courses, and I also read at least one AAR of a class on that site as well as on Voodoo Man’s blog. I recall viewing the Green Ops website as well, but it wasn’t until John Murphy of FPF Training told me, during his Vehicle Tactics class, that Green Ops is definitely legit that I really started considering training with them.

It was an honor to partake in their Defensive Pistol II course. This is my first class with them.
Read MoreIt just so happens that I was talking to my good friend Nate from Advantage Training Group about that a while ago and he sent me in the direction of a training company known as Green Ops. I didn’t know at the time, but Green Ops is located here in Northern Virginia, and if you have a chance to attend a solid course, you make the drive.
Read MoreMike is a really good teacher, he takes time to work with each student, his demonstrations were spot on and he does a great job of teaching “methods” and reiterating that “methods” are just that… ”methods” on how to do something, not “the only way” to do something. I was really impressed with the fact that he spent time with each student on each drill, giving pointers here or there depending upon the need (skill based).
Read MoreThe students who showed up ran the gamut. I've done a class or two in my time. LL has been through a class or two. VDM has been through a class or two, too. On the other end of the spectrum there were people who had absolutely no formal training whatsoever, with one person sort of in between due to military training.
